We are tightening up everything and will be publishing the official itinerary in the next 2 weeks.What we can tell you is that activities will start at Friday at 4 and close at noon on Sunday. If you are flying in, please try to book accordingly so you don’t miss a moment!

I will also be contacting you by email for some information about your blog and publishing some shuttle and taxi information from the airport to the hotel. As always feel free to email me directly for any prequestions.

We are going to be PAR-TAYing in New Orleans, Louisiana at the Prince Conti Hotel, which is one block off the infamous Bourbon Street. Many excursions are planned for the French Quarter, Bourbon Street, Jackson Square and more!

Start your evening off with a group dinner and a ghost tour on friday! Then official meet and greet in our conference room (breakfast will be provided prior) and receive your itinerary options for the day! Sum up the evening with a 5 star restaurant meal, karaoke, and dancing!

Faq’s

1) What kind of meeting is this? Why is it not a conference?

Leah and I had an interesting idea. Social media is about meeting, connecting, and walking away with a stronger bond with those we spend every day with online. What better way to do that in a vacation destination that wasn’t dependent on classes or learning, but was completely focused on friendship and relationship building.

2) I thought I heard this was going to be at the beach? Where is the beach?

We were initially thinking the beach, but we wanted to make this meeting as cost effective and fun filled as possible. New Orleans is Americas city. Everything is within walking distance and plenty of ways to bond. If you have been, we are sure you want to go back and if you haven’t, its an amazing experience. (LOTS to blog about!)

3) Are husbands allowed?

We don’t mind if your hunny bunny bunks a night in your room, but if he is planning on being a part of any of our conference events, he needs to have a ticket reserved. We strongly encourage you to find him some other husbands to hang out with and focus on the group of women around you. Its very easy to use a husband as a fall back, so better extend your night an extra day so you two can spend that alone time together and you can focus on us during meetup days!

4) Im not much of a drinker, will I have fun?

YES! There is so much to do in New Orleans that its not dependent on drinking at all. Drinking is always optional and those that are not interested in bar hopping in the evenings will not be forced to do anything they are uncomfortable with.

5) Are my kids allowed?

No.

6) Will there be any sessions?

There will be a set aside meeting place and time so we can officially introduce each other and talk about our day. You wont be left hanging at all. The rest of the time will be filled with available activities, food, and fun!

7) Are sponsorships welcome?

Yes! This is a great time to talk to those companies that support social media. While we are a smaller meet up, this is a wonderful time to actually get the attention of a real handful of influential bloggers and share company information with them. We encourage everyone to tweet, post, and link up any sponsors that send swag.

A few of us are coming in the night before to set up any product that will be handed out as gifts, so you are welcome to schedule that with trisha at (trisha@momdot.com) to arrange your product.

8 ) How much is the hotel?

Its only $85 a night plus tax! We will be in touch with you on how to book the hotel once you have your ticket set up. We encourage you to room with someone to lower your overall cost and will be providing a forum space on the MomDot Forums for you to find a roomie.

9) I have never been to New Orleans before. I’m scared. Dont they kill people there?

New Orleans should be scared of 30 blogging moms. That’s all I’m going to say about that.

10) Why is this set up before BlogHer?

Truth be told, there are tons of conferences all year long so there is never a perfect time.Kinda like having kids! This smaller, more intimate meetup is great for those that want to really focus on creating long lasting relationships built on a solid foundation of memories. Plus, if you see each other at BlogHer, Type A, etc. you will be old buddies by then! Hugs all around!

11) What is covered?

• Breakfast both days at the hotel
• Specific Meetup room space for our group during the hours of 8-5
• We are working on sponsors to cover additional costs to add to your adventure for FREE! (like dinners, etc) I will update that as we have more info.
